Welcome to the XVIII International Seminars on the Overarching Issues of the European Area!<\/strong>
\nThe eighteenth edition of this conference proves the important role that science and academia play in questioning, debating, and endeavouring to provide answers to the various challenges we are facing as a society (on a national and international scale). In the current context, despite profound changes over the last few decades, there is still a pressing need to continue the dynamics established in previous editions. The main goal is to broaden the discussion on multiple issues with the participation and contribution of renowned specialists and academics from various continents, as well as representatives of prominent institutions and civil society. They are irreplaceable players in the mitigation and resolution of the problems addressed, regardless of whether they are social, cultural, economic, or environmental.

\n\nAs President, and on behalf of the Organising Committee of the XVIII International Seminars on the Overarching Issues of the European Area, we invite you to visit the city of Porto and share your expertise and experience with the academic community. The contributions and combined efforts from all the participants will lead to strategies and solutions can be developed and deepened to overcome the many problems facing the world today.
